70s Heavy/Psychedelic/Stoner/Space/Proto Rock playlist. Heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music which has its earliest roots in mid-1960s garage rock, blues rock and psychedelic rock. It is typified by a "heavy" use of distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with pianos and keyboards. Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a bass-heavy sound, clean melodic vocals while in common parlance "psychedelic" refers all art movements of the early 70s counterculture.
